Physical Design & Timing Closure
From synthesized netlist to DRC-clean GDSII — floorplan, CTS, routing, and multi-corner STA sign-off.
Overview
Our physical design team takes synthesized netlists and transforms them into tape-out-ready GDSII. We handle floorplanning, power grid design, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and full sign-off STA across all PVT corners. We close designs at nodes from 180nm down to 5nm, across foundries.
Key Capabilities
Floorplanning & Power Grid
Die size estimation, macro placement, power mesh design, IR drop analysis. Optimizing for routability and timing from day one.
Clock Tree Synthesis
Building balanced, low-skew clock trees. H-tree, mesh, and multi-point CTS strategies for high-frequency designs.
Place & Route
Timing-driven placement, global and detailed routing, DRC fixing, antenna violation repair. ECO routing for last-mile timing fixes.
STA & Sign-off
Multi-corner, multi-mode static timing analysis. Setup/hold closure, OCV/AOCV derating, signal integrity, and IR drop sign-off.
Our Process
- 1Floorplan and power plan review
- 2Placement → CTS → routing (iterative)
- 3STA across all PVT corners
- 4DRC/LVS/antenna checks
- 5Final sign-off review and GDSII release
Tools & Technologies
Deliverables

- LEF/DEF abstracts
- STA reports (all corners)
- IR drop and EM reports
- Sign-off checklist document
Case Study
SoC Block — Physical Design
Completed physical design flow for a digital SoC block from synthesized netlist to GDSII. Executed floorplanning, CTS, and routing with multi-corner STA closure. Delivered DRC/LVS-clean GDSII meeting the target frequency and power budget.
